Junko is an operator-investor with more than 25 years of experience across healthcare and TMT, combining hands-on leadership of high-growth companies with a strong investment and capital markets background.

She is best known as founder and CEO of UNAVETS, which she scaled through an ambitious buy-and-build strategy into the leading veterinary services platform in Spain over five years.  She also acquired and grew OneVet, building it into the leading veterinary services platform in Portugal.

In parallel, Junko played key roles in building other category leaders across Europe in the veterinary sector. She served as a Board Director and turnaround advisor for Oaktree Capital on Luxvet Group, helping to transform it into the leading veterinary services platform in Central and Eastern Europe, and as a Board Director of BSA, guiding it to become the leading veterinary blood bank in Europe. Following her exits from UNAVETS and Luxvet, she acted as a Senior Advisor to Oaktree Capital, supporting their healthcare services and buy-and-build initiatives, before relaunching Marconi Capital.

Earlier in her career, Junko worked as an Advisor for the James Cameron Group and for other institutional clients, and spent 5 years in investment banking, advising on more than $30 billion of TMT capital raising and M&A transactions with a focus on media and [digital or technology] businesses.

Junko also serves as a Trustee to the African Wildlife Foundation UK Board and as a Trustee for the Cheam School Foundation, which provides life-changing bursaries to children.

She holds a BA from UC San Diego and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School.
