Maria is Co-Chair of Lightstorm, a group of media/technologies companies founded by filmmaker, explorer, and defining technologist James Cameron.

She has a proven track record in early-stage strategy, structuring, and financing, and has been a principal at, or has advised, some of the most innovative and forward-thinking companies in the world.

Previously, Maria was a senior executive at Time Inc., Netscape/AOL, and an advisor to Microsoft. She works closely with Meta by virtue of her oversight role at Lightstorm Vision, a leading 3D tools and technology company and part of the Lightstorm portfolio.

Maria is a senior advisor to StabilityAI, as well as an Emmy Award-winning producer. She also functions as Executive Director of the Avatar Alliance Foundation, which focuses on science-based solutions related to climate change, oceans health, and sustainable food systems.

She is co-chair of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, a board member of the African Wildlife Foundation, and of the TBA-21 Foundation. She is a recipient of the Ban Ki Moon Prize for Environmental Leadership. 

As a Senior Advisor to Marconi Capital, Maria provides strategic advice and proprietary deal flow, particularly in the media and tech sectors.
